Good sunglasses are essential for outdoor activities, during all four seasons.

What to Wear?

Sunglasses, whether they are prescription or non-prescription, should carry an ultraviolet (UV) protection sticker.

What to buy?

Buy real sunglasses with (UV) protection. Shatterproof polycarbonate lenses that donít pop out of the frame are best.

Dark Lenses

Lenses should block 75% to 90% of light. When trying on a pair of sunglasses, if you can see your eyes, the lenses probably arenít dark enough.

Gray is Good

Sunglasses shouldnít change the color scheme. Gray lenses are good because they absorb light from across the color spectrum equally. That means they wonít distort the colors of objects youíre seeing.

Peripheral Protection

Lenses should block peripheral UV radiation that hits the sides of our eyes. Purchase eyewear that is large enough for your head or extends out to the sides to block peripheral rays.
